well its not really a slide rig but its what i plan on learning my slides better on.
only thing im thinking of changing is the wheels, these inheats are pretty grippy still but we'll see.
also i'll hopefully mess with the bushing setup to help but thats still something i dont know much about.

Oh man those wheels look soooo awesome. I've found that, at least at the majority of our spots, we don't need super grippy wheels so slidier wheels are more enjoyable.

Post Re: Post Your Sliding Rig
well i went to the parking garage near my school for a break and it was probably my first legitimate sliding training session lol. this was also my first time on the switch with the venom supercarves (barrel top, cone bottom). i love the feel of it already, its much easier for me to "get into carves". i think having barrels both sides was to much resistance for me since i'm so light. i was mainly trying to practice colmans/pendy's whatever they are. i definitely have a lot to learn but it was fun practicing. one thing i was having trouble with was putting more weight on my hand and less on the board, i kept ending my slides earlier than i needed to cause it was like instinct to get back up. also it was tough for me to not have the board go all the way to a 180. I know part of it was needing more speed, i was going decent but i get nervous since the ramp doesn't have walls around it and being new to it i don't want my board shooting off the edge (the bottom levels chained off so you can't use it unless you end early and there were cars there). all in all it was still fun and hopefully i can keep finding time to run over there and practice during my breaks. i really want to get to standups but im trying to go through the learning curve i spose.

my bit of stoke for the day :D

That's awesome! I'm so pumped that you're stoked. Keep working on those slides, just haul and put more weight on your hand than you think at first. Are you grabbing rail with your other hand? I find it's actually easier and way more controllable to not grab rail and steer with your other arm.

PS: Venom Supercarves are double cone combos. I personally love the barrel cone combo which is what Venom called "Standard". I've never really tried a cone on bottom and a barrel on top, but I normally do the opposite. Anyways, it's sweet that you're so stoked.

at first i was grabbing the rail but i tried not to as i kept going. i did think it was more comfortable with out grabbing the rail and it helped to put more weight on my hand...more or less just needed more commitment and speed.

gotcha, i think i was mixed up cause i ordered one pack of the supercarves, but i'm using one cone on each truck, if that makes sense. so its normally run with cone top barrel bottom? well im ignant haha, maybe i'll switch em around and see what it feels like that way. though i was pretty happy with how the rode.

i'm going to try and find a nice hill around here where i can get more speed and not have to worry about loosing a deck. (i figured it wouldn't be great for me to practice at the beek and cause a ruckus for the locals)
thanks for the knowledge!

No worries, I'm happy to help. Not grabbing rail is a good way to put more weight on your hand, I never thought about that. I can see how you got confused. With a barrel top and cone bottom I can imagine it dives really quick and rebounds really hard. I think you'll get more stability but still deep turn with a cone top and barrel bottom. And your board will hit a parking garage wall at some point, it's inevitable. I know mine have.

gotcha. lol, no the problem is theres NO walls, so if my board slips out its taking a 2 or 3 story dive to asphalt. if it was walled i'd be relentless cause this switch is a tank! :D
